My partner and I are going out tonight for dinner which is something we rarely do. So when he rang - while I was helping my mother - to say he had booked the table for 6.oopm my mother piped up has he booked you in for the Kiddi menu. He heard and laughed and then replied he was worried I would be too tired for a later booking. I had to remind him I'm 41 not 81. I made him re-book.

Well I am going to treat myself tonight to a lovely chocolatey dessert no cheese and biscuits for me.

Adjusting to a Mini Life

Its been really odd this week realizing that I can make minis everyday now if I so choose. Now I am trying to achieve some sort of routine so, that I get regular exercise and my daily dose of sunshine. I do not want to turn into a mini hermit who only ventures out on public holidays LOL. This is what I have been upto.

Mini Mayhem

What am I doing now? Well the answer is making a bl...dy mess my hands are covered in brown glass paint and super glue. I have just knocked a pot of glass paint over. I went to wilko this morning and forgot to buy the wax polish I need. Yet managed to buy another pumpkin full size when I already have one. Oh yeah and I am cold. So as you see I am happy as a lark LOL.

Its one of those days when all I touch turns to disaster I dare not do any sculpting LOL. I think a nice cuppa tea and a biscuit is what I need.

A Mini Celebration

I had a little wine last night to celebrate my plunge into the miniature world full-time. Suffice to say there will be no mini making today due to the everso painful after effects of too much merry making.
Below and above are pictures of my new range of cufflinks I have been working on in better times. I have made more but, partner keeps claiming them. I think he's had enough freebies I will have to start charging him LOL.
Ah yes now I remember why I do not usually drink!

Dinner Up in Smoke

I was so engrossed in using Illustrator to design a Dundee Cake box that I let the pumpkin and chicken soup that was almost ready - it had been bubbling away nicely for 2 hours - burn black. My partner has just had to carry it into the garden as it smelt so bad. I thought maybe I could salvage it but, it tasted burnt. He's such a darling he just said these things happen where as I could have cried. Its not even like we can have Dundee Cake for dinner as they are made of polymer clay.
Well the good news is the box has worked out fine. You gotta laugh.

Trick or Treat

Today I put the finishing touches to A Tray of Autumnal Treats and made 8 Dundee cakes ready for Christmas. My 18 year old son has a chest infection and has reverted to 5 years old. So I have been running around after him, taking his temperature, spooning him medicine and generally keeping him company. He begged me to watch a film with him and then promptly fell asleep. I have to go he's calling me to warm him some soup. I am not moaning -I love it really - its the only time I get to spend with him these days. As hes always got something better to do than sit with his mum.

Orange Sorbet Desserts - Dollhouse Miniature Food Handmade

Treat your little people to these exquisite iced orange sorbets. Each sorbet is complimeted with two dark chocolate gold brushed leaves, a mint leaf and a little orange coulis. This is my partner's favourite dessert personally, I prefer something chocolatey. Not sure if that's a word but, you know what I mean.
So far this weekend end I have not made a single thing I seem to have lost my creative mojo again. I am sitting at my desk come work bench surrounded by clutter eg used cocktail sticks, cotton buds, bits of used sanding paper, empty wrappers, dirty bird feathers to name a few. Do you know it has just come to me I have to clean up this Bl....dy mess before I can create.

Plunged into Marvelouse Minis Full Time

I have finally made the plunge into minis full time. My last day of work is 23rd October. I am heart broken to be leaving all the adorable children and I shall miss my colleagues. However the call of the Miniworld is greater. Well to be truthful my partner will be working abroad and I am going with him so, I had to give in my notice. Yet it does mean I will be making minis full time I am so excited.
Above is a picture of the Autumnal pumpkin and black currant pie I made yesterday. Each slice is presented with a swirl of cream and a petite fondant pumpkin.

Christmas is Coming

I know its only 8th October but I cannot help myself I have listed my first Christmas items. Well the turkey can double up as a Thanksgiving item so maybe I'm not so bad afterall.

Meaness or Madness

Thats me done, no more Halloween goodies. Yesterday I finished a batch of skeleton gingerbread men in various scales and can honestly say that if I never see one again it will be to soon LOL.

Here in the UK London we are having a very mild Autumn so I am determined not to switch the central heating on until I absolutely need to. Luckily my partner is away as he would have switched it on ages ago. Often in the Winter I return home to find him and our son dressed in shorts and T-shirts with the heating on full blast. I think they believe they live in the Caribbean. When I suggest an extra layer of clothing you'd think I had suggested tracking to the North Pole by their reactions. I like a warm but not suffocatingly hot atmosphere. Enough of this nonsense this is what I have been upto.
Now I am not sure about that tray maybe its a little too rustic?
