What an exciting day yesterday I added the finishing touches to my Dollhouse miniature Christmas Cakes as well as taking my little doggy friend to puppy training class and we passed. I was so pleased as right up to the last minute it was not going well and then when it mattered he was a star.

Halloween

Goodness where has the year gone? What with my mother on the verge of being diagnosed with Parkinson's Dementia, my going into the perimenopause (I never knew it was possible to be so cross and irrational) and the upheaval of my husband working abroad and only seeing him six times a year (some might say a blessing). I have not really had alot of time for mini making. That said I am back and trying to sort out my store. So here is a selection of what has emerged from the dollhouse kitchen. Here are the last of my miniature Easter Treats. I returned to the UK February 25th for 18 days to visit family and friends which I really enjoyed. Even though it was so cold. I find it quite frustrating making minis here in Indonesia often I reach for something only to find I have left it in the UK. Trying to locate supplies here can be time consuming and futile. I am glad I am able to return to the UK every 6/8 weeks.

I love this Advent Calendar it reminds me of when I was a child with all the excitement of opening a new door everyday. Although I must confess I could not resist the temptation of opening all the doors before Christmas Eve. Not for the chocolates because in my day you were simply rewarded with a Christmas picture. I just could not resist the unknown LOL.

I hope all of you that have snow and ice stay safe and warm indoors. Here in North London no snow yet, but it feels so cold. I just want to wrap up warm with a hot drink and dare I say it - not make minis. My fingers are almost to cold to move properly. I have even wrapped my cat up to keep her warm I am not sure if she is pleased or not. Can't please everyone!

Wonderful FREE Dolls House Magazine

The September issue of A.I.M. Artisans in Miniature is out now. Its well worth a look its crammed full of projects and articles about artisans and their crafts.

My week so far has not been too good my pasta machine has broken again. the clay just keeps circling its gets stuck to the rollers. I am sure its less than a year old but I cannot bring myself to send it back to the manufacturer as I have not exactly been rolling pasta with it LOL. I think they would find traces of clay and get suspicious. Well I have invested in a Makins clay rolling machine from The Craftmill based in the UK. The only place I could find selling them in the UK. So I am patiently awaiting its arrival.

Gentle Cycle Ride by the Canal

Here in the UK the weather has been gorgeous for weeks now so today my husband and I decided to go for a cycle ride along the canal from Tottenham Marshes to Canning Town. Thats about 12 miles (19KM) there and back. We had been cycling for about 15mins when my husband asked when were we going to start. I was a little confused I thought we had started. I was enjoying myself looking at the canal house boats and the ducks. Basically he wanted me to up my speed, some men never satisfied LOL. I told him to go ahead and I would amble slowly, no not slowly just not at the speed of a bullet. This worked very well until I realized that he had both my asthma pump, the money and the water. Well one always has to stop for a little light refreshment along the way. Actually it worked out really well as he waited for me at the bridges and once I had my inhaler I was as happy as a lark.
We had a really enjoyable 2 hours unfortunately I am too tired now to do any miniature work. Here's what I have been upto this week.

What a Carry On!

As much as I love the warm weather, together with the pollution here in London the hot weather has worsened my asthma. So I had to change my medication. A a result for the last 2 weeks I have been too shaky to create much dollhouse miniature food as like a fool I was taking double the amount of my new asthma medication that I should have been taking. I read the instructions once for my new inhaler, misinterprepted them and then promptly threw them away. It was only when the inhaler ran out that I realized my mistake. It should have lasted me a month not 15 days. Well I can tell you I felt like a real idiot and slightly embarrassed about asking for a repeat prescription so soon. Luckily everything is fine now and I can get back to mini making although I am easily distracted by a good book and all that sunshine.

Kensington Dollshouse Festival Class

On Thursday I attended a class at the Kensington Dollhouse Festival "To Sculpt a Fairy" with Daniela Kiefhaber. I had an amazing time, Daniela is a wonderful and talented artisan and teacher. Here is a picture of the little baby fairy I managed to create. I very much doubt I will be able to create another without her expertise.

I Thought Yoga was Meant To Be Easy

I started doing Yoga classes at my local gym and now I can hardly move let alone sculpt. I thought yeah I'll try this it looks easy and theres not much running about. How wrong could I be?

First some of the poses were so difficult to get into and maintain I did't think I would be able to get out of the them, secondly my body isn't as supple as it was 20 years ago (but of course I had no ideal) and thirdly I was so exhausted afterwards it was all I could do to walk home. Ah yeah, I was only doing Everyday Yoga "a class especially good for those experiencing Yoga for the first time".All that said I am enjoying the torment and will be attending weekly classes LOL.

Before the pain set in I was able to put together the above.
